Helping the athletes of the Special Olympics warm up for their walk...

Yes, I know it's been a while since I've posted to my blog. Fact of the matter is, I shut it down for a while so I could focus on bigger things. You see, sometimes life is just way too busy, productive AND fun to have to post every event. I'd rather be out helping people and living life than behind a computer keyboard! Anyhow, here is a synopsis of what has been going on in the life of Maria Beall:

I was asked by the Special Olympics to warm up it's walkers for a fundraiser held at Virginia Union. It was a beautiful day and the athletes were so sweet!! I had a great time and felt honored to do it!!

In July, I enjoyed a great vacation with my family! We had an incredible time as it was the first time that the extended family vacationed together. My father-in-law was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year, so this vacation was very special. I feel blessed to have been able to experience it!

In October, I attended the All American pageant and cheered on many of my friends while they competed. It was very excited because the network TLC was there filming, King of the Crown. I briefly made it onto camera for about a half second! If you had blinked, you would have missed me!

For the past month, I've been volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club of Richmond. I am unable to show pictures due to the privacy of the children. However, I've had a great time showing them how to Zumba, stretch and have fun. Our focus has been just to move our bodies and to display that fitness can be fun and does not have to involve a fitness center or PE classes. I hope that I have inspired many of these kids and hope to continue to work with them!
